Yulia Tikhonova is working to present a diverse range of group exhibitions that provide opportunities of engagement with a socially critical art discourse. She believes that the gallery is an essential space where the local and academic communities can share ideas about contemporary art and culture. She is the founder of Brooklyn House of Kulture, a nonprofit originally organized to explore models of community curating amongst the diverse communities of Brooklyn, NY. Brooklyn House of Kulture has expanded and refined its vision and under its new name, Creative Diasporas, INC. Tikhonova is a graduate of the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College.
