I teach German online for mostly American military members, however, it also includes family members. I am interested in learning what is offered in the form of global education/a global degree for students who live in many different countries. I would like to work with others if something already exists or help develop a program if it does not.

Personal Interests and Passions

Traveling, I have been to many different countries, and had to cancel/reschedule/cancel four trips since January. As everyone else knows this has not been the best time to travel. I was supposed to visit Bahrain for the third time, where my grandchildren live and attend school. Education, it is a basic need of all people, but it is still often taught as in pre-industrial age times. This pandemic has opened many new possibilities for development in education. I have seen horrendous uses of "online" education, heard about future uses that require students to be online seven hours a day, and hear of great uses, and hope possibilities become realities. I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, being with friends,gardening, anything to do with language.

I am a former teacher, principal and superintendent. I am now retired, but still teach as an adjunct for UMGC. I am thrilled everyday when I speak with students around the world. However, there are so many possibilities for school age children and I am not sure about what is available and what people are thinking.
