Retired Teacher...teach a bit in the summer young children via my old school. Focus is on connecting them to the environment via outdoor explorations.

Was a Middle School science teacher....shave pent retired years working with lower primary children connecting them to nature via outside activities. This decision was made when research purported to show that the younger a child is when he/she plays about in the real world with the support of an adult - the more likely they will some day work on behalf of the environment.

Personal Interests and Passions

Outdoor activities from gardening, walking, sketching - and once tree climbing (retired from that after turning 65)! A long time student of the Buddhist Practice of Thich Nhat Hahn (via a local group of people), the interconnected aspect of all life is what fascinates me most. And I really enjoy pursuing our exciting (but very limited) understanding of the Universe - especially how it has grown due to the WEB telescope - and other technology.

More About Me

I had the first internet connection in my school pre-world wide web days. Now I do not maintain a person website or Twitter account. At 77, am more interested in real world connections - but also really loved Steve's work and wish to reconnect with it. In the past I occasionally submitted articles to such places as Science and Children. Again, do not put my energy there. I initially felt the Internet was a wonderful technology, but now understand how easy it makes it for people to manipulate others who are ill educated or simply 'a bit off kilter'. Like all technology it is a true double edged sword that cuts both ways.
