More About Me
Loyce Odo is the Learning & Development Lead at PACEMaker International. Here, she manages the identification, coordination and implementation of learning and development initiatives and programs to ensure PACE Volunteers possess and develop skills, knowledge and capability to fulfill the PACE vision and strategic objectives.
She inspires and motivates staff and leaders to learn, grow and perform through effective partnership and collaboration with various stakeholders across the organization. She works hand in hand with the Country Director and HR Service delivery with focus on building peoples’ capability through engagement, performance and development.
Loyce has a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in International Relations from the United States International University. Apart from writing for different magazines in Kenya, she has also delved into Digital Communication, trying to help companies and individuals grow their businesses online.
Her background in Communication enables her to effectively research, create and deliver content in a manner that will be suitable and relevant to the various groups within the organization. On a daily basis, she loves to interact with young people-from little children to young adults, hoping to add value and through that, effect change within their communities.
I am passionate about effective digital communication and education, especially among young people. I have for a long time now been at the space of young children, inculcating the reading culture among them. This is through an initiative, Spell It Right, where we conduct spelling bees annually in Kenya and East Africa and organize reading clubs within primary schools.
Being a communications professional and with the rise of technology, I have helped different organizations come up with effective digital communication strategies: social media, website content and email-newsletters. Because of this, I recently worked with Facebook, on a project 'Boost With Facebook', where we were to train 3000 companies in Kenya on how to use the Facebook tools for effective digital marketing. I was also at Kigali last month mainly as the one in charge of social media for the Timeless Women's Conference 2020. I hope to grow and network more around this field so us to champion the theme, 'Digital Platforms for Social Enterprise.'
