    More About Me

    Leslie Preddy is the school librarian at Perry Meridian Middle School in Indianapolis, Indiana, adjunct Instructor for Wayne State University, and Instructional Leadership Editor for School Library Connections magazine. She has served as an adjunct professor for Indiana University, Indiana State University and IUPUI. She has presented webinars for edWeb, Indiana Department of Education, American Library Association, and other state and national organizations. She is a frequent speaker and consultant at local, state, national, and international education conferences and events and has published many articles in professional journals, as well as co-created online resources for educators. Leslie is a past recipient of AASL’s Collaborative School Library Media Award, School Library Media Program of the Year award and ALA’s Sara Jaffarian School Library Program Award for Exemplary Humanities Programming. She is a former Perry Township Schools Teacher of the Year and a 2010 Finalist for Indiana State Teacher of the Year. She is a Past President of the American Association of School Librarians and a Past President for the Association of Indiana School Library Educators (AISLE). Her book, SSR with Intervention: A School Library Action Research Project was named one of the Best Professional Books of 2007 by Teacher Librarian and her book, Social Readers: Promoting Reading in the 21st Century, was Highly Recommended by Library Media Connection. Her latest book is School Library Makerspaces and she is a recent recipient of two grants from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library, for her school library makerspace.
