Olga Gil is a doctor in Political Science and Sociology (European University Institute, Florence, Italy, 2000). She earned a Master of Arts in Political Science (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 1994) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development and Latin America (UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University, 1994). Gil holds Degrees in Journalism, Political Science and Sociology (UCM, Madrid). Dr. Olga Gil is a specialist in Max Weber and in the application of his ideal market types to the analysis of the regulation of technology in a historical-institutional and comparative perspectives. The interests of Professor Olga Gil have covered the following topics: power and its applied study with a recent focus on articial intelligence, the application of political ideas to the analysis of contemporary issues and challenges, institutional economic history, public policies, local government as well as digital transformation in cities, working comparatively cases in Asia, America and Europe. Olga is a professor in the Department of Political History, Theories and Political Geography of the Complutense University of Madrid, and teaches graduate and postgraduate courses at national and international universities. Dr. Olga Gil is part of the research team of the H2020 Framework Program led by Tecnalia and UNICAN with EU funds, CITADEL (2016-2020): Empowering citizens to transform European public administrations (call H2020-SC6-CULT -COOP-2017-2017, Proposal 726755). Gil is also a member of the Smart Cities and Smart Governments Research-Practice Consortium based at the Government Technology Center of the University of Albany. Evaluator at the CNEAI (National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity) since 2014. She has worked for the UN at its New York headquarters and for IBEX35 companies.
