    More About Me

“The thrill of ‘the dig’ - helping students to research and unearth good information no matter how long it takes or how many routes need to be explored - is what I most enjoy about my library work. Because of the quality and quantity of information in all formats, students must be taught efficient and effective ways to find and communicate pertinent, credible information. A student’s reaction to her ‘Eureka!’ moment is what makes my work exciting and worthwhile. “I love working with students, my advisees, and my colleagues in a boarding school community where, as library director, I have the chance to get to know almost every student well. One of my goals is to support the visual and performing arts, and I try to attend all student concerts, performances, community dinners, speeches, games, and other school activities. Another goal, which began when my parents constantly hosted students and teachers from all continents in our home as I grew up, is to promote diversity and pay close attention to international and diverse students. My life mission has been to make a positive difference in the lives of students and in the success of the school. My wish is that each of our young women grow up to become compassionate, self-confident, independent adults who have purpose in their lives; have found success and weathered adversity; have been supported and have developed compassion, care, and respect for all; have a passion for life and a sense of humor; and who matter in this world.”
