Personal Interests and Passions
Currently, I am on leave to pursue an on-line Master's Specialist Degree in School Technology Leadership at the University of Kentucky's Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE), which is the nation's only program dedicated to the technology needs of school administrators. The focus of my research has been the design of a high school social studies curriculum aligned with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
More About Me
I have a background in Islamic school education, non-profit management, counseling, mediation, writing and working at the United Nations in various capacities. On all levels, individual and international, micro and macro, community and global, I recognize the higher good and purpose in myself and others. I am an idealist who seeks world peace and an end to injustice. I firmly believe that by knowing, appreciating and understanding one another we can dispel ignorance, mistrust and fear. As an educator, it is my duty to instill leadership in our youth through an integrated, technology-driven curriculum emphasizing 21st century skills, global competency and service learning.
