    More About Me

For the past several years, I've been creating a comprehensive global awareness content suite [A Tribute to our World in Postage Stamps] as an intentional way for K-12 educators and others to build a baseline global frame of reference. The content is adaptable for print, print-on-demand and digital delivery systems, including books, e-books, digital electronic whiteboard and web-based products. The components (print, digital, and print-on-demand) assemble into 8 continental/regional manipulative map puzzles for individual or classroom use. With iconic postage stamp images as individual puzzle pieces, the puzzles are completed by matching stamp images to their correct places on the map. Interpretive text ties the significance of each stamp theme to the country it represents and points to the tradeoffs facing the planet's citizens. If interested, please go to www.worldpeas.org and click on the .pdf link at the bottom of the home page. Responding to two of the 21st-century's most elusive educational challenges-global competency and ecological sustainability-the completed puzzles combine to offer international learners (including pre-service and in-service teachers) in the English-speaking world a visual index of the world's most beautiful, memorable and inspiring natural and cultural highlights; collectively, they provide a visual-conceptual base for building global perspective and knowledge. Having just finished the researching, writing and editing, I am now trying to determine the most effective approach for putting it out there, and cannot do it alone. I look forward to the prospect of connecting with like-minded, enthusiastic individuals with an interest in preparing both teachers and students for the global age.
