More About Me
Melanie is a faculty member at the University of Texas Arlington, teaching Communication Studies since 2001. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance and an MS in Information Science. Her focus is speech performance, with classes in Voice and Diction and Oral Interpretation (both Adult and Children’s literature), Reader’s Theatre and teaches Broadcast Announcing in the Broadcast Communication sequence. Her research is concentrated on digital communication and social media. In the Fall of 2014, in cooperation with UTA, she designed and launched an online Voice and Diction class, the only one of its kind in the US. She partners with area high schools as a Professional In-Service instructor for Performing Arts faculty and works as a Regional Contest Manager for the University Interscholastic League of Texas.
