More About Me

Before I became a reserach geek, I spent 13 years in the trenches teaching various iterations of English, Journalism and Reading to everything from at-risk inner-city youth to gifted kids. After leaving the classroom for baby number 2, I began teaching online reading classes for a community college. Since then, I joing the PhD program in curriculum & instrucion/Language & Literacy in 2008. I am blessed to have the mentors I have, who have taken me full force into the world of gaming, literacy and sociocultural learning. I believe strongly that education has been on a downward spiral for generations, and work tirelessly to find ways to improve the classroom for both teachers and students. If I can help make it better, I'm happy :)
