Dr. Ramesha obtained Bachelor and Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Bangalore University, Bangalore and awarded Ph.D. from Karnatak University, Dharwad. He was started his carrier as a Librarian in the United Mission Degree College, Bangalore and joined the Karnatak University Library, Dharwad. Subsequently he was joined the Dept. of Library and Information Science, University of Madras, Chennai as a Lecturer. Presently he is working as a Professor in the Dept. of Library and Information Science, Bangalore University, Bangalore. He was awarded ”ILA – A.G. Motiwale Award for Young LIS Professionals-2007” and ”ILA – Dr. C.D. Sharma Best Paper Award 2009 and 2011” respectively by the Indian Library Association(ILA), New Delhi. He was Rapporteur many conferences and seminars name a few First SAARC Coutnires Conference held at BIMBTECH, Greater Noida in 2012 and 56th ILA Conference held at O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana in 2011. Burea of Indian Standard (BSI) nominated him as a Member of Panel on Content analysis. As of today he has published more than 80 research papers both at national and international journals and conference proceedings and participated more than 60 national and international conferences, seminars and workshops and guiding 8 Ph.D. studdents. He is member of Board of Examiners (BOE), Board of Studies (BOS) in many Universities in India. Dr. Ramesh was completed one major and one minor research project funded by UGC, New Delhi and Universtiy of Madras, Chennai. Dr. Ramesha suved as resource person in many Academic Staff Colleges(ASC), workshops and symposia organised by the UGC, Academic Staff Colleges, organisation and institutions in India. He was visited Srlanka, Singapore and South Korea on official assignments. He is a life member of many professional associations including ILA, IASLIC, IATLIS, MALA, KALA etc. His areas of interest includes Application of ICT in LIS, Design and Development of Digital Repositories and Information Literacy.
